Lemon juice substitutes for cooking
Lemon juice and zest can be replaced with a similar citrus – line. It has the same properties, but isn’t suitable for allergic people, as well. This fruit can be added to tea, served with cognac and vodka.
If you want to prepare the sauce for salads, replace lemon juice with apple vinegar.
Besides, lemon juice can be replaced with lemon acid, for example, when you make lemonade. Juice of 1 gruit can be replaced by 1/4 teaspoon of acid that’s supposed to be diluted in 1 tablespoon of water or apple vinegar.
Half of Vitamin C daily norm is contained in one big lemon. To prevent vitamin deficiency, you can use ascorbic acid instead, as well as multivitamins and products containing the ascorbic acid. With fresh juices and vitamin beverages, lemon juice is replaced by other citrus juices: oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, nectarines, etc.
Lemon is consumed for treating sore throat, hypertension, kidney stone disease, and other malaise. In these cases, lemon juice can replace some remedies.
In everyday life
In cosmetology, lemon juice is often used to lighten hair and skin, make them silky and shiny. For this purpose, you can also use lemon acid, chamomile extract, and skin care products based on 3% hydrogen peroxide.
Lemon juice can help to wash hands from colorings and other substances eating in crevices. Some berries with a high amount of acid (for instance, black and red currant) also have such properties, as well as lemon acid.
To whiten teeth, they can be washed with lemon juice diluted in water (soda is also used for that). It shouldn’t be done more often than once a week.
Hydrogen peroxide and lemon acid are also widely used to remove stains from clothes, cleaning silver, etc. They can replace spot removers used for the same purposes.
